Communication
At Heronsgate, we deeply appreciate the close and supportive relationships we have with our parents and carers—it's a vital part of our school community. Clear and open communication helps us stay connected, and we’re excited to share updates through our Facebook page and mailing systems.
UPDATE:
Over the coming months, the way the school communicates with families will be changing.
- For parents and carers of new Year 3 starters, all letters and communications will be sent via My Child at School (MCAS). A user guide and the school ID is available at the bottom of this page.
- For existing parents and carers, we will begin the onboarding process in the coming weeks. The new system will go live for all families from October. In the meantime, all existing parents/carers will continue to receive updates via Parent Mail.
We will share updates and instructions on how to sign up to and use MCAS through both the school newsletter and the school website in due course.

Introducing My Child at School (MCAS)
‘MyChildAtSchool’ (MCAS) will soon be our main communication platform, connected to our school database, Bromcom. It gives parents easy access to key information like the school calendar, notifications, and payments—all in one place.
Why are we using MCAS?
We’ve made the switch based on parent feedback. Many found texts and emails overwhelming, so MCAS simplifies things by keeping everything together in a single app. MCAS is used by the majority of school's within the trust.
How do I get started?
We ask all parents to download the MCAS app on their smartphone or device. Once installed, you can manage your own notification settings and choose how you’d like to receive updates.
